Of Kanda and Skinny Jeans

for the new d.gray man kink meme

KinkKanda in a girl's skinny jeans. (I don't care if there is a pairing or not but that nice ass has to go into a pair of tight jeans - preferably girl's jeans.)

A/N: This was entirely too much fun to write. Considering I had a crappy day, it made me feel much better. So hopefully it'll get some laughs? XD

Warning(s): Kanda in tight jeans, failed attempt at crack, foul language, and mentions of possible gayness, (though NO there aren't any pairings in this. )

This. was. NOT. Happening )

Gosh dammit, GQMFs. I made a fifth story of macro-ness, wouldn't ya know. But college is about to eat me alive right now, so this be my last macro story for a while.

*sniffle*

So I made it extra LOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG. Huzzah.

(If you read "McCoy's Favorite Movie - A Macro Story", you'll enjoy the little reference in this one, I hope)

this be more like macro novel... )

Has Captain Fine found love?
[info]lindarella123 wrote in [info]ontd_startrek
A posting on contactmusic.com is reporting that Captain Fine has found love with IronMan2 actress Olivia Munn. Says they have had an "intellectual and physical connection" for about a month. The site is citing US Weekly, but there is nothing about this story on the weekly mag's website. There is also no photographic evidence. Could it be true?

Via Geekologie, via Technabob:

It seems like just the other day that we were talking about some seriously cool lighting, and already we’ve got a reason to dig the rare subject up again: the Star Ship chandelier. Yes, Star Ship. The name is important, see.

Gee, that design looks somehow familiar… and undeniably slick as a hanging light fixture. Definitely a lot cooler than a boring old ceiling fan (uh, except not literally).

Not that I’m insinuating anything here, but this sure looks like something that would have fit right into that summer movie with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. iTrek, was it? Star Gleam? I forget. But if you’re painting everything in your home white and adding a few touches of chrome, you might want to drop $189 on this space travel-approved chandelier.

Let's face it, if it weren't so expensive, I'D HAVE IT RIGHT NOW.

TYFYT.

Network Maintenance: Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 04:00-06:00 UTC/GMT
[info]dwell wrote in [info]lj_maintenance
On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.

Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.

We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!

As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work.

Kick it, Trek-style!
Airwalk does the unthinkable, bringing together those who grind with those who speak fluent Klingon

It’s not often that skaters and Trekkies can find common ground, but this weekend, Payless shoe stores across the galaxy will debut the all-new Star Trek STPL x—a line of Trek-inspired skate shoes from Airwalk. Those who prefer to not leave the house can order the limited-edition kicks through the Payless website.

Created by renowned New York City designer jeffstaple and carrying a $49.99 price tag, the shoes are available in three different “away team” colors: Captain Kirk yellow, Spock blue, or Scotty (or rather, nameless, soon-to-be-killed “security officer”) red. And while the Trek set will most certainly get a kick out of the Starfleet insignias that adorn the shoes, skaters can expect the quality and support they’ve come to know from the Airwalk brand—and also get an in with those cute “Nerdbirds” out there.

IF YOU ARE UNPERTURBED AND WISH TO ACQUIRE THESE HOT-ASS KICKS AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE, they're $50 from Payless, LIMITED TIME ONLY or something, and can be ordered online or purchased in stores.

Macrotastic! A tos musical extravaganza: the senses

Since the other macro went so well, I could not resist producing this crackalicious opera, The TOS Marco Musical Extravaganza: "The Senses." Featuring even more of our beloved GQMFs: Kirk, Spock, and Bones (of course!), with special appearances by super GQMFs Sulu, Scotty, Uhura, and Rand. Enjoy!
Song 'the senses' by the Animaniacs. For best results, play the song and follow along. Pics from various sources, but special thanks to [info]titc 's fun site.

Blu-Ray preview
[info]taxicaboots wrote in [info]ontd_startrek

Mr. Pegg is amazed by the beauty of this high definition bamf.

So, in a stroke of luck, my Blu-ray copy arrived about a week ago, aka two weeks before the release date. Though I have watched it (and it is GLORIOUS, natch), I haven't had a chance to share its beauty until now. For the record, this is the Canadian version of the three-disc special edition Blu-ray, directly from the manufacturer. I imagine the only difference between the Canadian version and any other English version is the bilingual insert. You know. Excuse the bad quality pictures as I'm not sure where the chargers are for my actual cameras, but perhaps this will tide you over until you too possess this cinematic masterpiece of UNF. Behold!

all GQMFs coming soon in high def to your bedroom . . . television sets )

Patrick Stewart at Al Gore's Book Launch Party
[info]mizuno_caitlin wrote in [info]ontd_startrek
It's time for a Captain Picard walking event post. How is this man 69? I don't believe it.

Patrick Stewart attends the Rodale launch party for Al Gore's New Book 'OUR CHOICE: A Plan To Solve The Climate Crisis' at the American Museum of Natural History on November 3, 2009 in New York City.

Climate Change Activism? Make it freaking so~ )

I don't think he likes the 'red carpet' entrance photo thing.

I have a question for you ladies: While it generally states 'startrek' in our community title, we do tend to focus on XI and TOS here. How does everyone feel about seeing more red carpet and event photos of our favorite TNG/VOY/ENT/DS9 GQMFs?
